We’re all born naked and the rest is drag.
RuPAUL

My drag is in a state of constant evolution.
My closet has seen studded belts and red high-top Converse (evidence of an 8th-grade emo phase); boat shoes and pastel button-ups (relics of my days as a straight-A, and supposedly “straight,” high-schooler); beanies and thrifted, ill-fitted overalls (during my Anthropology studies at the University of Utah).
I’ve worked as an ESL tutor, activist, arts writer, middle school math teacher, barista and server. After two decades in the Mormon Church, I’ve experimented with atheism, New-Age spirituality, paganism and Buddhism.
I’m accustomed to out-growing and up-cycling my personas – even the drag I once clung to dearly. But a couple things have never changed: I’ve been drawing and writing for as long as I can remember.
In April 2021, my film review for The Daily Utah Chronicle earned 1st Place for Best Arts Writing and my analysis of the 2020 protests earned 1st Place for Best Collaboration.
In May 2025, I started a tattoo apprenticeship at APMU Studio and in January 2026, I became officially licensed.
Tattooing is a perfect fit for me. And I’m still exploring new ways I can create with others toward liberation of the self, the collective, and the Earth.
